I've been tagged in a blog hop from Lucy McConnell...she is a fabulous writer and we have just co-authored part of a Christmas Boxed Set together --Christmas in SnowValley.
I love blog hops! It gives everyone a chance to meet other authors. Lucy's latest book Undercover Engagement had me on the edge of my seat!
Onto the questions--
1-What are you working on?
I wish so badly that I was one of those authors that could force myself to only work on one book at a time. Ugh! I try to discipline myself and finish books...but, as of right now, I'm working on a couple. There is a romantic suspense that will be out the end of this month called, THE REAL THING. No, I don't have a cover for you, either. Working on that as well. But--the short hook would be that it has a hot, ex boyfriend that's an FBI guy and he comes to help save Alexa from her very hot, current boyfriend--who happens to be part of the Columbian drug cartel. Lots of twists and tension and --suspense!
I'm also working on book 2 in the Hidden Falls Trilogy. This book focuses on Star's love story--and it has Beau and Richard in it--both vying for her attention.--Sigh. It's good romance. Really good! You'll have to read it to see what happens:)
2-How does your work differ from other works in this genre?
Hmm...that's a tough one. Honestly, I don't know. I love this genre and I try to make sure I'm heavy on the character development. I try to make sure that I have created towns that people fall in love with and want to come back to. I know, for myself, part of the fun of reading different author's books comes from seeing what is similar and what is different in the setting and the characters.
3-Why do you write what you write?
Because I love romance. I love thinking about that first kiss. That moment when the other person is the only one in the whole world that you care about. That moment when you realize that love has all power over another human being. That part that feels intoxicating. Yes, it's addicting. That's why I write it!
4-What's your writing process?
This is a simple question to answer...I outline, then I write, then I re-outline, then I write some more. Yes, sometimes it's quite a process. And, stop the presses, sometimes I don't outline at all. No! Say it ain't so!:)--yes, yes, sometimes I get that crazy.
More than anything I think the important part of the writing process is simply doing it. Putting words on the page everyday.
Who are we visiting next? The fabulous...Jo Ann Schneider--author of New Sight and Babes in Spyland--she is stealth--like a Ninja...in fact, she is an actual black belt! Fighting is her game and she writes really amazing fight scenes! Check her out here.
